Founded in 2020, Iron Senergy is a privately owned, independent energy company that takes pride in delivering customer satisfaction and reliability with the highest level of integrity, safety, and compliance.
The backbone of Iron Senergy is the Cumberland Mine, our experienced longwall operation. Anchored by a skilled and dedicated workforce of more than 700 of the hardest working individuals, the operation produces nearly 7 million tons of clean coal per year and possesses an estimated 30 year reserve.
In December, 2020, Iron Senergy acquired Cumberland Mine, an operation previously scheduled to close at the end of 2022. Recognizing it’s potential, Iron Senergy invested into the needed equipment and infrastructure, now extending the life of the mine an additional 30+ years, while helping to secure our place in the future of the U.S. energy supply chain.

Increasing Salary wages and benefits in addition to adding 125 full-time positions
Iron Senergy was formed for the specific purpose of acquiring the Cumberland and Emerald coal mines located in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Transformed the closed Emerald Mine Site into the Greene Energy Center, providing a new source of economic development in the community.
Construction begins on the new coal refuse disposal area (CRDA) #3.
Longwall Panel 74 was completed, which included the new longwall shearer, rebuilt longwall shearer and surface automation.
Completion of Transmission Powerline & #9 Bleeder Shaft.
